Dual Electronics XGPS300 GPS Cradle for iPod Touch Users
Your iPod touch will now help keep you from getting lost, thanks to Dual Electronics’ newly released XGPS300 GPS Cradle offering.
This sleek cradle is available for about $180 and promises to help you navigate both in and outside the car.
Especially designed for iPhone and iPod touch users, this cradle features an in built GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver that ensures easy navigation.
GPS navigation applications are in great demand today and it seems Dual wants to tap this high potential market.
This product is scheduled to hit the stores sometime in February 2010. Once you have it in your hand, you will get to use the preloaded Dual NavAtlas app, which includes maps of the United States and Canada.
Sleek design
The XGPS300 also boasts features such as an amplified speaker, audio out connection, and mini USB port. This product is designed to snugly hold your iPod Touch and begins to function as soon as you fit the device into this battery case look alike.
This simple to use, portable, and multifunctional device should delight millions of iPod Touch owners across the world. Some may find the retail price of $179.99 a bit high, but the company justifies the cost with a host of attractive features and an adjustable windshield mount for easy in car use.
Competition to TomTom
The XGPS300 GPS Cradle offering may make your iPod Touch appear as a replacement to your iPhone, but don’t forget to take your phone with you, as the iPod Touch doesn’t include calling capabilities. This release should give some competition to the TomTom GPS Kit for iPod Touch. TomTom launched this kit last year and it was welcomed by iPod Touch users who liked the idea of turning their product into a mobile navigation device.
But TomTom’s product was offered at $100 and Dual’s release is almost double this cost. Users are going to ask this question and carefully weigh the options before they invest in the Dual Electronics cradle.
